Fellas,

Sorry for the delay. I stopped in the shop on Saturday asking where they were.... He promised he get them to me by Monday. I'll get some on here as soon as I get them!. Either way, I'll snap some of what I can (tweets, amp, and stealthbox) tomorrow. But, I need his to show the mounting of the Cleansweep and the dynamat....

I'm as anxious to see them as you guys!!!

Default Finally - Some pics!

All,

I snapped some photos this morning.... As you'll see, shots of the JL Stealthbox and Sub, the Amp mounting, a shot of the quick disconnects so I can easily remove the sub should I need the floor space, Tweet mounting, and my favorite, the bass volume/control **** (I think it looks OEM/stock).... I have some other photos of the door/speaker installation, but they'll have to wait until I get home to my other e-mail account....

All in all, I'm happier everyday! I can almost hear the system breaking in.... I don't have any shots of the CleanSweep. The shop didn't take any and it is installed inside the dash. I would have liked it mounted with the Amp in case I needed to adjust, but they felt it fit well where they put it. And, thinking it through, probably shouldn't need to touch it....

They mounted the amp on the back wall. Used 3/4" MDF and attached carpet. They then used marine epoxy to fasten to the rear, Dynamat'd wall. Top notch wires/connectors all around.

Enjoy!

looks pretty good but if it were my system... I would not be happy with the color of the box nor the quality of the carpet install.

Any professional stereo shop should have matched the carpet of your box to the interior color for a better blend and stock look.

not trying to be a butt, just being honest.

enjoy your stereo

Default Box quality/color

Great points.... I chose black because I thought it "hid" better under the seat, especially to someone looking through the tinted windows.

As for the carpet, I was surprised as well. That is actually the JL Stealthbox.... When I flipped it over and saw that seam, I was really surprised. I'm a function over form guy, so it doesn't bother me too much...

Thanks for the feedback!

I see... Don't you think that having a contrasting color that doesn't match anything under a seat in the shape of a box would actually draw more attention. Theives will use flashlights etc.. to look into cars for stuff of value. I like your thoughts and what you were trying to do... but instead of trying to match the "dark" I would match your interior, this will blend and not cause it to stick out screaming... "aftermarket goodies"

That is amazing that JL Audio would let a box go out like that... But perhaps the shop recovered it to the black you requested.

I would agree function over form... but you know we all have good taste on here....

cause we chose a FORD... lol

Regardless my friend, I hope you enjoy it which I know you will. Best of luck. Maybe if your bored some weekend you can go to the hobby store and get yourself some carpet to match and some 3M spray and redo the carpet yourself in your garage over a cold refreshing beer. I am about to bet that you can do a better job yourself on the carpet.

Also... if it was me... I would do away with the big bulky bananna clips or quick release clips. they are bulky and not needed in my opinion. It takes about 30 sec to undo it regularly... hardly a waste of time and then you can pull it tighter and tuck the wires under the box giving it a much more clean look. plus nothing to see when trying to look in to steal. those clips will glow at night with a flashlight.

cheers....

So do you like the sub? You went with a single right? Plenty of bass?

Default Sub verdict

I love the sub (went with the single 13TW5)! Just the right amount of bass. If I want to crank it, it hits. It's even very complementary at lower volumes.... This was the perfect solution for me.... Not an audiophile, but someone who really appreciates great sound, with good music, and some solid bass....
