Should sound great once they get you all tuned up, I don't even want to hear the total $$, definitely don't send your wife to hunt me down.

The jump to the XD600/6 from the 400/4 gives you some flexibility, and is a good value for the added 150W ($.66 a watt compared to the $1.33 a watt for the first 300).

The 13w5 should be a good sub, I think you'll be glad you added it. Here's a review from an audio site I visit: http://www.diymobileaudio.com/forum/...subwoofer.html.

Take a couple minutes and look at sounddeadenershowdown.com, you don't have to buy his stuff, but he's got some well respected views on dampening that may help you get a better end product.

Thanks Merlin. I was thinking that as well. But when I switched to the unpowered subwoofer, just went right for the XD600/6.....

It's only money, right?

So let's hope the wives don't read these, LOL

First off I started with a JL cleansweep and just wasn't happy with it. And by the way if your shop doesn't know this check for the interface module you may need between the Head unit and the cleensweep. When I first installed mine and connected the battery it worked well. Shut off the truck and restarted it and the stereo wouldn't work. Took it to the stereo shop who is an authorized JL dealer and they couldn't figure it out. After research I found out I needed this interface. This is when the cleensweep was new so now maybe everyone knows this or JL corrected this issue.

So I moved on to an Eclipse AVN-6620 NAV/DVD, ( after many different head units in the truck), and added steering wheel interface, IPod interface, Parrot BT hands free, SIRIUS radio and upgraded all four door speakers to JL VR-525 I think, A Rockford T4004 powering the fronts and P4004 powering the backs, and a JL 8W3V3 under the back seat powered by a RF P300-1

Just this morning the truck was upgradded again with the following:

Same AVN-6620 Head unit and add on's
JL ZR525-CSi powered by the T4004 in front, (Got these for $400 a pair, brand new, only $70 a pair more than the C5's), JL ZR525-CSi powered by the P4004 in rear.
New custom sub box under the rear seat after LMI 2.5" seat lift kit
2 Subs are JL10w6V2-4 powered by a RF T1500

I'm in France on assignment so I haven't heard it yet but the guy at the stereo shop tells me his ears were ringing, much louder than his own system.

Total cost = $ Way too much for me to admit with everything I've taken out, but ballpark $6750

Annoying the wife = PRICELESS!!!

Wow PMONRI,

That system is phenomenal! I see you're from Coventry, I'm in Jamestown. Who is doing your work for you? I may have to check them out....

Was it you that called or visited SoundFX today?

Yeah, it was me. Spoke to Mark. Told him about your post as he sent me the same photos showing what he had just completed. Small world, eh? The irony is that I had actually e-mailed him two days ago....

He has some great ideas, but initially looking like it is a little above my budget.

Update....

Ran into some issues running an OEM head unit with the CleanSweep and the XD amps with a sub. When bridged, drops down to 1.5 ohms. Looked at the PDX5, but incompatible for full capability (specifically lose fade control and that may be an issue when my wife and I are hauling the kids....) and same impedance concern. Settled in to the following after consulting with the JL factory rep:

JL Cleansweep
JL C5-570 component up front
JL C5-570x in back
JL 13TW5 in Stealthbox under the backseat (with quick disconnects)
JL HD900/5 pushing it all
Dynamat in doors
Monster Cables connecting it all together.

I can't believe I walked into their shop two weeks ago for a set of Infinity Kappa 2-ways to upgrade the doors.....

Thoughts? Hopefully it's all good, gave them a deposit today for an install on 10 May (they need to order the HD amp on Monday).

Talking UPDATE - Pulled the trigger

Got the system installed today.... Wow! At first, didn't know what to expect. Then, on the way home, put some of my tried and true on and I've couldn't believe it!

Amazing!
