I am buying a new HU (a nice double din dvd unit) in my truck. Just to give you a little info on my setup I replaced all speakers and am currently using an MSFRD1 PAC unit to interface my stock HU with my amp. So question is do I need to buy the PAC wiring harness that retains sync? or can I get the one that just makes it so my steering wheel controls still work? Or do I need both? I'd like it if the mic still worked so I didn't have to use a bluetooth headset (cause I hate them).

The FRD1 should retain sync if you have it plugged into the aux in on the new HU. You can get a PAC steering wheel control adapter that will plug into the FRD1
