Default Adding amp and sub to stock unit....

Looking to add an amp and sub or subs to the stock unit, I want to keep the stock unit because I am a fan of SYNC. When I wire in the amp for the remote turn on and to get the subs to work I need to tap into the rear speakers correct? I did this in my old Explorer but I had help from a friend and I can't remember how we did it. He's since moved out of state and won't be around to help. I have read about a few different wiring harnesses that allow you to keep SYNC with an aftermarket HU but none of them sounded that impressive. They also said that you have to keep at least one stock speaker.... Now I'm also looking to upgrade the stock speakers, I have no problem running a small amp because I know the stock HU will struggle powering them unless someone has an idea on how to run aftermarket speakers w/o an amp. And can you run 4 aftermarket speakers and still have SYNC funtion? Any insight would be awesome, thanks in advance guys!!

Look for compcoder's install thread, should answer all of your questions.

I got a PAC-Audio AOEM-FRD24 for the high level inputs. I think eventually I will get a signal processor to clean it all up. Havent installed anything yet as I dont trust myself with the door panels and speakers.

You'll loose Sync with that PAC Module.

Thanks for the info guys... Nobman, I will let you know once I get into it. Have a few golf outings and some other things to cover before I start putting money into the audio. I have the subs, amp and all the wiring from what I had in my Explorer so that would be free. But once that's all in I'm going to do the door speakers and what not. Thanks again guys!
