Default adding an amp

After much consideration I've decided to go with just an amp instead of spending close to $500 for the a new HU & all that would be needed. I already changed the speakers in all the doors and while it's louder the bass is sad

So after talking with crutchfield they suggested the Pioneer GM-D1004 since Im keeping the radio stock and can tap into the factory wires but that is where Im lost. I have input on one side & /poweroutput on the other side of the amp. Can find anything online on how to install this thing? Anyone else got a clue?

What year of truck and kind of factory HU do you have? Better to use a wire harness if you can.
Read page 6 of the installation manual below and it tells you which wires go where.

Start with buying this
https://www.amazon.com/Parrot-Car-Pl...1V3EGZ8KFHNY7M

Then wire it up to the amp (see pics) the colors just match up, but the grounds should go to the chassis. there is a metal bar behind the CD player for a good ground. When I say the colors match up it's green to green green/black to Green/black Yellow to Yellow etc. The amp has signal turn on feature so you don't have to hook up the blue remote wire.

Use this for dash removal.
Remove the dash components to get to the CD player, this where the wire harness plugs into, behind the CD player is a great spot to put the amp. I soldered my connections and heat shrunk it, but you can use butt connectors or wire nuts if you prefer, they don't look as nice.

Once its all wired make sure your amp is set for 4 channel, not 2 channel. then put it all back together and enjoy, the center channel won't be amplified (if you have on) but you won't hear it now anyway.

Are you happy with the volume and sound of the new door speakers? If the bass is lacking then just add a powered sub. Or buy a PAC AOEM FRD24 for your 2011, if you do want to install an amp. PNP install and has a amp remote turn on wire and 2 sets of RCA inputs for an amp.

it's not bad, they're loud enough I just wasn't wanting to add a sub though. I had an 03 Escape with just an aftermarket HU and it sounded great

If bass is all that is lacking then a sub is the way to go. Adding an amp for the door speakers, you have to figure out to get the amp output to the speakers whether that is tapping/cutting factory speakers wires and running new wires. I changed door speakers and added a powered sub and a world of difference. Comes down to how much time and money you want to invest in the upgrade.

Amp has already been bought but like I said the way it was explained was I just tap into the wire without cutting anything. From the looks of it this parrot wiring harness is the way to go...

Just splice into the harness and plug & play.
