Default '99 Regular Cab Sub box...

I've got a '99 F150 regular cab...and I'm getting ready to put the system in the truck. I've got a big question on the box...got a couple buddies that have F150s like mine that are '00 and '01s and regular cabs as well. They talk about some storage box type thing behind the bench seat thats like the width of the truck on the floor and removing it. I have the black plastic/vinyl type flooring in my truck...its hard to explain but there is like an extension out towards the back of the seat from the cab wall of the truck and dips down to the truck floor level as it gets closer to the truck seat. Is this the box they are talking about??? If so do I have to remove it to build a box or can I just build one around it/on top of it?

That's probably really hard to understand but I'm trying to figure out what to do cause I wanna have my system bumpin in the next few weeks...
