Default 87 single cab stereo install help

I have a 87 f150 xlt single cab. It only has the door speakers. I've seen pics of ones with speakers in the pillars behind the seat but mine dosent. I'm wanting to put a pioneer head unit into the truck and I'm needing help on wireing it. The pioneer head unit is made for 4 speakers so how would i completely wire it up? I have some door speakers to wire up also. All the help is appreciated! Thanks

just read your instruction manual, it has everything in there, it should be a super simple install. Are you going to run an amp? I had 4 1986 f150 standard cabs, there is a ton of room for stereo stuff. I had 2 10" subs in truck boxes behind the seat, 2 sony explode 700 watt amps, and 2 6x9 in truck boxes under the seat, plus door speakers, it was awesome, I miss those days

Run the door speakers to the radio, run rca outs to the amp for the subs. Done. If you really feel the need for more mids and highs get a 2 channel amp. Wasting money and ruining the overall sound by cramming speakers where they don't go or aren't needed.

Like Robert said you really don't need rears in a regular cab. A good set of fronts and one or two subs with an amp behind the seat is perfect.

Rear speakers in a regular cab is worthless. Spend the money you would have spent on rears on a better set of fronts
