dont flush mount and cut out your speaker grill. that is not a good lookin thing. Also the more sealed you can get em the better they sound. Put some sound deadening in there, Get a speaker that fits. My audio install....http://www.f150online.com/forums/mem...o-install.html

Did you trim the excess tabs off of the frames?

No, that was directed toward the original poster. I mean the extra screw tabs that are on the 6x8s

How do you "seal" door speakers? Can't be that easy without some fiberglass work?

the best way is to cut a piece of mdf, screw it to the door, trim the flange out of the way on the door card, mount round speaker. put a layer of sound deadener inside the door and on door behind the actual door panel. That makes A pretty good seal. On mine I fully deadened the cab. I didnt want to cut the flange off the door panel so i sealed the 5x7 opening to the door and made a baffle to go in the door card.

Noo, thats what needs to happen. How would I "trim" them? It's all one piece? Shave them down or something? What would be the best thing to use? Thanks for putting the pic up

Get some tin snips. The ones with the red handle. Some speakers make the extra tab so it will snap off with a pair of pliers..
