While im on the subject, i'm wondering if i need to upgrade the wiring from the speakers to the stereo or if stock is alright. Not really wanting to but i have a funny feeling the guage is kinda light for these components.

you can buy plastic mounting plates from metra or schoshe (they are very easy to make on your own though using mdf)

the stock wires are find for a stock or aftermarket stereo without a amp, the factory radio puts out roughly 8w or power, an an aftermarket wont put our more than 25w...either is adequate for the stock wiring, if your going to upgrade to a amp, say 75wx4@4 then i would use 16gauge or larger (14 or so) you could use 18 and it would work, 16 isnt that much more expensive and worth it

If you're concerned about wire size, go to the site below and scroll down to the Wire category on the right. It has a calculator to help you determine what size wire to use and how much power you lose across the wire.

As for deadening the baffles, you can either use caulk rope, closed cell foam or lay some deadener over the baffle. I use deadener in door installs because it's easier.

stock wiring isnt 18, its more like 20-22...i would get a couple sheets of second skin damp pro and put it on the front and back of the baffle you make/buy, not only will it cut down on any and all vibration, it will also increase the sound

loganberry, by all means clutter away. I'm interested to see the setup. Any ideas, pictures, info would be awesome. I have some deadener left from another project so i was planning on using that. My question is should i cover just the baffle or everything. Or should the vapor barriar be enough to seal it all up?
