2016 w/ Sony Sound Channel Summing Required?
Hi guys.
Starting to plan out a system upgrade and I have a 2016 with the Sony sound.
I've read some people say you need channel summing and some people say that the front mid wire is full range.
If I grab something like the Alpine PXA-H800 and feed the front mid wires and rear wires into it, that would be perfect since those two feeds are full range sound??
Or would I need to sum the the front tweeters and front mids together for a front full-range sound?
I like the functionality of this sound processor, but it doesn't do channel summing.
One last question.
Do you think the LCQ1 is a better solution than a more feature rich device like the PXA-H800?
Thanks,
Chris

You probably need/want summing to cover front tweets, front mids, center, and sub. Rear doors are probably fine to not sum.
That means at least 6 high level inputs that can sum.

The center channel is just the left and right front channels summed together, so that's not needed. However, the sub in the Sony system is dual voice coil, so that's still 6 channels. I had a bit ten installed and just have the front left and right mids and tweeters input into it, and that gave me a full range signal.

My center appeared to have nav voice that was not on the right/left... Or it blended really well.
The sub input is 2 wires out of the Sony amp. Splitting into 4... 2 for each voice coil. Isn't that just one mono signal?
