Believe it or not, there's plenty of room Depth wise. It's HEIGHT that's the problem.

with the sub sitting on top of the 2 bolts on the floor. It barely hits right under the latching bracket, where the cab curves forward for the seat mount.....it's 1/2" too tall.

It's raining so it didn't get to mess with it too much. But that's where I am.

So...solutions? Suggestions?

I think my 3 options are:
1) cut the bolts 1" shorter. Maybe using a die grinder or something. But I don't really like throwing that many sparks around. The carpet would be out and maybe the seats. Probably the last option.

2) drill at least 1 hole in the box and maybe try to seal around the bolt with silicone or wrap it in Etape or something. I saw somewhere on here where a guy drilled his box. But it's a sealed unit, I'd rather not go drilling into it.

3) try to position it in the center between the driver side and passenger bolts. That means moving the jack and stuff. But that's not really a big deal. I'm sure I can stash that stuff somewhere. But I don't know if there's any room to be had behind the passenger seat.

Well, I think Option 3 may be out. Look at the circled area in the photo. That bracket may/will be a problem. Won't let the sub sit on the floor.

But then again, it may let it sit lower than the bolts. Low enough to clear the top.

This is now going to be a project.

Time to get creative.

Cut the seatbelt bolt, closer to center of cab. I used a cordless Band Saw, to cut off 1 inch of the bolt. Didnt effect the bolt or seat belt connector.

I sat my box on a 1x4, as a 2x4 made my box sit 3/4" to high above the rear cab indentation. Using the 1x4, allowed for a perfect and snug fit!

This also aloowed for me to cut out a hole in the board to sit over the bolt, so it didnt rub or hit the sub box.

Yeah...sure would be nice to have a cordless band saw. I was thinking about trying a sawzall but it'll probably take an hour to get through that bolt.

I may run to the Harbor freight store and see if they have a cheap band saw.

A sawzall will work, just use a good metal blade! I got the bandsaw from work.

A mini hack saw will work as well. Your arm will just be tired.

Yeah, I've hacksawed through a few exhaust pipes. I'd rather not do that. I'll try a sawzall first. I think it should work. And if not...I can still drill the box, but not until I'm out of ideas...

Other than that, I think it'll fit. The top is a little thick and will be tight against the back of the seat. But hopefully I can wiggle it into place. I may have to trim the top 2 legs to let the seat latch.

I just ran out and stuck a piece of cardboard behind the seat. I'm now 90% certain that I will have to trim the top legs off of the box. But I'm also 75% sure that it will fit after that.

If I cut the thin material off the back of the seat, the legs might be able to squish into the seat back.

Doesn't allow much room for the sub to push air though. I'm thinking I need to pull that cloth off the seat back just for air space.
