Default 2015 XLT F150 stereo upgrade?

I just traded my 2013 FX4 with Sony in for a 2015 XLT FX4 302A. I was happy with the Sony but the 2015 is horrible. I am not a giant fan of cutting wires and doing a bunch of crazy upgrades but I have to have something at least as good as my Sony. Have any of you installed the Kicker PowerStage kit? If so do you like it? what other recommendations do you have? Thanks in advance.

I installed a Kenwood DNX890 in my 2011 XLT. See sig. Love it. Bought it thru Crutchfield. No need to splice factory wiring. I can go back to factory wiring fairly easily.

Thanks for the reply. A head unit replacement is out of the question and will not fix the fact that the truck has zero bass. I'm only interested in replacing speakers and/or adding them, possibly with the combination of amps and signals processors.

Add a sub and new door speakers and you will see a great improvement.

To fix the lack of bass: https://www.f150forum.com/f30/wiring...-guide-307111/
• Kicker Hideaway:

• Pioneer HVT:

To greatly improve overall sound quality: https://www.f150forum.com/f118/speak...pgrade-312812/
However, I ordered these instead of the Polks used in that thread:
• Infinity Kappa rear speakers
LINK LINK

• Infinity Kappa front speakers

Were you able to keep steering wheel controls with an interface?

Yes I was thanks to the Maestro device. It also speaks Kenwood so I am able to see all 4 tire pressures.
The NVX MVPA4 and MVPA1 amps fit under the unit in the center section of my dash. Cleans up the wiring a lot.

Turn on the speed sensitive audio setting. Mine is set around 7 and sounds great.
As far as adding amps and stuff without cutting their are a couple of harnesses that you can modify to plug inline to the cd deck. I have a clarion 4x50 amp with a parrot FOR-CK11 harness from my old wrecked truck that I need to get off my butt and install. There's several threads going too - read those.

Default Kicker Hideaway or Kicker Substage to provide better bass/ sound quality

I adjusted mine to #7 and it is better BUT still the bass and quality is not what I would like it to be. I am thinking about adding the Kicker Hideaway, but am confused as to the difference between the Hideaway & the Substage VSS? The Hideaway has an 8" subwoofer and puts out 150W while the Substage has a 10" subwoofer and puts out 200W but is more expensive. I can buy the Kicker Hideaway for $249, the question is whether that will do the trick? Not looking for truck thumping, just a better quality stereo sound in my 2015 F150 SCREW! Any help would truly be appreciated, thanks!

I ended up getting the Kicker Powestage. I have only had it a few days. So far I'm not sure it's a lot better than the Sony but it's far better than the XLT factory stereo.
