Default 2015 Sony audio build

Hey all! Wanted to start a build thread of my stereo project. I have a 2015 lariat with the Sony and sync mft.

Equipment:
Front - Herts HSK-165 6.5" component
Rear - nothing for now
Center - most likely disconnect
Subs - 2 JL 10w3v3
Amps - earthquake PHD2 (sub)
- Earthquake PH2200w4 (doors)
LOC - Audiocontrol LC6i
Wiring - KnuKonceptz for everything
Deadening - KnuKonceptz

So that's what's going in! Please feel free to ask any questions you have or if u have any suggestions send them my way!

Just curious on why you opted for LC6i compared to a full DSP like Mini DSP 6x8?

Because I already have the lc6i from my last vehicle....if I know myself I'll eventually get a dsp...but I've spent enough money as of now

I ran my Power cable from the battery to the amp mount location - what a Pain In The ***** to get it through the grommet on the passenger side! Also ran new speaker cable while the panels were off.

Today i added my Sound Deadening to the rear, added my mounting boards and mounted the sony amp.

Partial Install pic of - KnuKonceptz Kno Knoise Sound Deadening

My mounting board painted with texture paint and mounted to the truck

Sony Amp mounted to the board

My KnuKonceptz Karma SS speaker wire....Now which color??? First World Problem I Know...my wife just laughed at me when I asked her

From what I've read, you will need resistors on the outputs of that Sony amp or you will run the risk of burning your speakers. I did a build in a 2013 F150 MFT with no resisters and didn't have anything bad happen but I've read 14+ it gets sticky. I've got a 15 platinum I'm going to do a build on but I'm kinda waiting and researching to see what people are coming across. I have a bit ten D I use in my 13 that will go in my 15. Please please please keep us posted on your progress and anything you come across.

What's holding me back from starting my build as of now:
Sony outputs/using resistors
Haven't had time to inspect molex plugs but I need to get 12ga through them
Haven't had time to inspect where I might could get 1/0 through the firewall (if I can).

Looking good so far - best of luck.

You should be able to get 1/0 through the passenger firewall where I did...it's a pain but works, otherwise the drivers side has plenty of room...

What do you mean by resistors? Please explain and post a link if you could

Here is a link on a ford focus forum about the concept

http://www.focusst.org/forum/focus-s...id-damage.html

I haven't seen any write ups about the f150's just been told from several people they had to do a similar setup but I haven't tested any of this for myself it just seems to be the consensus.

Interesting. I wonder if the other 2014 Sony builds have had a problem??
