Each manf is different in the way they design their systems to work. You will need to refer to their instructions about mounting the tweeter on axis or off axis

Then you're running coaxials. No point in paying extra for components if you do that, IMO

That's not true. Lol you don't need to have the tweeter in another location and to be seen in order to have components. C'mon Joe, your smarter that that bro. Lol its about the end result....musical transparency.

Spend any extra money on speakers or sound deadening vs an amplifier. Also, as stated, skip the rear speakers, save the money for the fronts and amp. Great sound quality really needs proper installation though so don't skip out on that. Then if you want a proper soundstage and the best sound quality, will have to invest in a signal processor but are not cheap, really needs a commitment, overal system thought out and money.

My recommendation is spend somewhere between $180 - $300 for front speakers, after that for a base upgrade you will gain not much in overall sound quality. You will see improvement in the range I gave you, focals, ID's, Hertz, Morel, Arc Audio, Rainbow, Infinity are all great brands to give some suggestions.

Spend some time over at DIYMobileAudio. There are some build threads here and more over there and is nice to see what everybody does and it turned out.

Jumping on this thread. I had a spare hour today and I stopped by a local shop to listen to the Focal PS 165V's. Awesome sound.

So, now I'm considering replacing the front and rear factory speakers in my 2015 XLT Supercab. I would use the PS 165V's in the front, and was looking for recommendations for the rears.

On Crutchfield, they are recommending Focal Integration ISC 130's (5 1/4"), http://www.crutchfield.com/p_091ISC1...n-ISC-130.html. For some reason Crutchfield doesn't show any Focal 6.5"/6.75" that will fit in the rear's.

Any recommendations?

What amp was driving them?

EDIT: also, you can use ic-165 for the rears.

I'm planning on getting these to replace the JL C2s in the back.

Sorry, don't remember other than it wasn't just a head unit. Listened to them w/o a woofer. They had a great mid-bass and the clarity was fantastic, even at higher listening levels. Since this was a unintended visit, I didn't have my own music with me (although thinking about it now I could have done bluetooth streaming from the phone). I did remember asking how much power I need to drive them, they were recommending 75W RMS per channel.

This past weekend, I did install the Pioneer compact AMP (GM-D1004), 45x4 RMS, so I would likely want to yet again upgrade the AMP once I got these. (Not a big deal, I will just use it for something else, maybe a cooler music box.)
