sorry haven't read this thread in a while...
Yes I have full function of the seats and I still have room. The picture i posted shows my fingers/hand going inbetween the speaker and the seat bar to show there's more then enough room for the speaker to flex. As a matter of fact I just had to use it to help a friend move... (I knew it would happen one day once I got the truck ) I raised my seats up and had plenty of room, still "listened" to my music as I liked.
Hope that helps... I would honestly say though if you can stick with a ten, the 12 sounds amazing, but I think the 10 would sound better/use the space/sqft better than the 12. So if you can find someone/place (like the one I mentioned) to build you a custom fiberclass box to take up the space appropriately, then you can have one nice sounding truck.
Hope that helps. Also make sure you sound deaden... I used GTmat Onyx butyl black on the doors/behind the sub and it makes a really nice difference with the sound inside. It was also easier to tune with the calibrated mic /software setup.
