Default Thank you!

Thanks for this thread.

I just moved from a 2004 F-150 XLT super cab into a 2015 F-150 XLT super cab. I didn't have a clue where to start with this factory system.
I was able to use several ideas suggested here. I used the Parrot harness and speedwire, I had never heard of those items.
I removed the larger portion of the back seat. I modified some tool storage cabinets from my '04 truck and moved them into the void left by the back seat removal

I ran my power down the passenger side.

I reused the 5X7(?)Infinty Refrence component speakers from my old truck and mounted them into the baskets of the 6X9 factory speakers after i cut out the cones. The tweeters just fit into the upper black trim pieces on the doors.

Thank You!
Not sure about the back doors, but front doors just pops off.
Undo the wiring harnesses first, and then while holding the door panel, take one hand and reach straight down to where the cable connects to the door panel.

Reach BEHIND the cable latch, and Pull up and out slightly.
Its just a plastic housing with a metal cable that ends in a T- Shaped barrel.
The door handle grabs that barrel to move the cable.

It is very simple. Should come apart easily for you.

Default Very well thought out DIY thread.....

I just wanted to thank all involved for the very well thought out thread... and especially 1Chad for putting the initial build together.. I hope you don't mind, but I nearly copied it exactly as you laid it out... Instead of Punch equipment I did go the cheaper route with Prime.. I did use the DQ-61, all necessary wiring and sound deadening as you listed.

The one issue I did have is my '15 3.5L EB XLT Screw is a bench seat setup vs console so wiring through the rear cup holder area didn't work out as planned... The rear cup holder lays directly against the metal frame of the jump seat so I will have to make future accommodations to allow for proper panel fitment.. I do have a slight hiss (very slight) coming from the speakers but I think it has to do with the RCA cables... Other than that, I couldn't be happier...

One question for all..... To help with noise reduction, how are you dampening your rear cab baffles? I did what I could without limiting airflow, but never hurts to get a second/third opinion on how to approach.

Has anyone done a speaker upgrade with processor and amp, and notice that the reverse alert beeping sounds different as well as the seatbelt alert? I had JL Fix82 installed, along with amp, sub, new front speakers, and tweeters, and then just hooked up the stock rears to the amp too. Are those alerts and sounds connected to the main speakers? Could something have gotten messed up when the shop was working on the setup, maybe cut a wire that shouldn't have been? All of the audio from the stereo sounds perfect, it's just those few alerts that sound different and as best I can recall it started after the install.

Mine did the same thing after I installed my Alpine amp, all the alert tones changed, but now I've already forgot what they used to sound like.

1Chad, thanks for this very informative post. I was able to upgrade my stereo with:
LC6i, Blaunpunkt 470 Amp, Alpine Type R (Front and Rear) speakers and a Kicker Hideaway all while using the Parrot adapater cable harness.
I do have an issue if anyone else has seen it. My system will not power up with Key only. The vehicle needs to be on before the amp will power up. What this causes is that only the center channel speaker comes on with the engine shut off.
An help is greatly appreciated.
