2015 (13th gen) Speaker Upgrade
Ok, so I tried the advanced forum search (and extensive Googleing) and no luck finding anything, so here goes:
I'm looking for guidance on upgrading the speakers in a 2015 F150 Lariat Screw. I've read plenty of other threads here and the general consensus for simply swapping with stock speakers seems to recommend either Infinity Kappas or Polk DB571s. I'll go by CarToys and see if they have these on display for some audio tests, so that's a decision that will come with time and not something we need to dive into on this thread.
What I'm looking for and can't find is anything related to:
1) speaker size of the 2015 (I assume Ford stuck with the 5x8's for the 4 doors?)
2) instructions to remove the door panel (found only a single crappy youtube video - 2015 F-150 door panel removed - YouTube -, not helpful in the slightest)
3) details on where/if this model even has a subwoofer, as I can confirm it is NOT under the rear seats.. Lots of storage room back there.
This model supposedly has the Sony 10 speaker system, but I'm not terribly impressed with sound dynamics after owning it for three days. Thanks in advance!

Well, I found the sub.. It's standing upright in a shallow box behind the center rear seat. I'll post a pic when I'm on the computer later.
At minimum I'll want to polyfill the existing box and see what that does to performance.

For a 2015 it makes a HUGE difference. The 2015 EB has the fake engine noise which makes it almost impossible to add amplified aftermarket speakers. Only the Lariats and up have it, but adding an aftermarket amplified stereo is a huge headache.
Anyways, OP just wants to add aftermarket speakers so it doesn't matter either way.

I've listened to the Polks and had the Kappas. I think the Kappas were better. However, I swapped out my front Kappas with JBL P660C 6.5" components and they are WAY better than the Kappas. If/when I get the time and a spare $100 I'll be swapping out the rears with them as well.
Neither of these setups were in a 15. So I can't answer your question about stock speaker size in a 15.
