I used a sound ordnance 8". The price was cheap with excellent reviews. It means more to me to have space on the floor than to make the neighbors S**t the bed. Also I went with a smallish amp to reduce potential interference from the seat. Sounds great. I mounted the remote bass control under the seat using existing holes and panel fasteners.

I dont know.. If you want to spend that much on just the sub, then another $400 on a decent amp, and another $150 on wiring and high level input converter, then I guess the JL is the way to go.

I built a custom box that fits under my rear seat for my JL 10" compact sub.

Then I bought a 300W monoblock amplifier from NVX

And put the amp under the dash. I wired it myself and since my head unit has preamp level outputs, it was not a problem.
On my Dodge MAgnum, I made the same installation but took the audio from the rear speakers. The amp also has high level inputs.
The Kicker looks like a simpler system to install but probably has a little less bass.
I wanted my systems to sound better and they do.
