Default 2014 STX SCrew- A/V rehaul need HU/receiver advice

Hello everyone

After reading through many many threads (thanks everyone for all of your good info!), I narrowed down the equipment I'm going to purchase to redo all of my F150 A/V.

I have ONE item I haven't settled on, my HU. My budget is rather low (around $300), but it needs to have the following features:

- preamp output of 4V (or more, but not likely at this price point)
- Hands-free Bluetooth (needs a good mic)
- Aux input (rear/front doesn't matter)
- ~7in screen (rear/camera compatible)
- Double-din (fairly obvious)

Here's my shopping list:

All your equipment looks good. I don't think you will find a good HU with a 7" screen for $300.

I'm aware of that, but here in the vast world of "internets" 'good' is all relative.

I'm not looking for Alpine good, but I'm also not looking to pay for every bell and whistle known to mankind. For instance, I could care less about a DVD player or GPS NAV in my head unit, I only want the screen to use with a backup camera...but some things you just have to pay for.

Just more looking for anecdotal, "I LOVE THIS DECK" type advice. And perhaps I will be convinced to spend a little more.

I liked my Kenwood but it had a 6.2 inch screen. You should look at Crutchfield to see what is available for your price. Then search on the internet. I would use Crutchfield, Amazon, Sonic. Just stick with a brand name.

x2 on Crutchfield. They have some really good deals and will throw in a bunch of wiring and brackets for free.

I'm going to settle for a 6.2". The more reviews I read about all of the Pioneer decks I have been looking at, they speak of slow responding touch screens and bluetooth issues. WyoScab, what has been your experience with your Kenwood? Would you mind sharing which model you're using?

I think I'm also going change course a little bit on my original shopping list and I'm going to keep the coax in the back and probably go for the Infinity 60.11cs components in the front (I'll probably have to make my own mounting brackets, bit that's fine), placing the tweeters in the triangle door panels that have the air vents.

If you can, spring for a Kenwood DDX5901hd ($420) and the Maestro setup. Completely customizable programming of steering wheel control functions, FULL Sync capability plus customizable engine/vehicle diagnostics display on the radio display. Awesomeness. Lol. I love mine.

Maestros customer service and tech is second to none. Same with Crutchfield.
