Makes sense. After i posted my question I looked at my truck and relized the look you went for was more factory which i like since it would allow you to take them out and replace with the factory tweets.

The plastic backing plate you made out of a plastic tray, what kind of plastic tray was it? Also the screws you used, were those factory screws or some you had lying around?

Those are factory screws and factory screw holes. They are used to hold the metal silver screen over your stock tweeter (you will see when you pull it apart).
Just a thin piece of plastic. It could bend easily and "formed" around the backside of the tweeter, but was strong enough to hold some tension to it.

Default Tweeter cups

I was looking at the photo however I can't tell. Did you remove the tweeter from the cups they come in or did you leave them in the cups.

Yes, they were removed from the "flush mount" cups. Those cups are large and prohibit the tweeter from fitting in that stock location. Did you end up buying a set?

I did. I got the spr 60c for the front and the 6×8 type rs for the rear. Use a jl audio clean sweep and an old alpine 4Ch to power them up.

Great post! Just wanted to know how it all turned out! I am ordering everything for my upgrade, and was going with a similar set up! Cheers.

Well...although the customer service sucks and it took one month to get here, it looks damn good and exceptionally well built
Single 10" FOX Box

Now to tune my amp and get everything 100%.

Sub'ing for your impressions of the Fox Box, I'm trying to decide now which route to go with my sub / subs... Everything else is here and waiting.

Fox Box Review:
1. Their customer service is TERRIBLE. a shipping label was "created" a week after I ordered it. Then it took almost a month later to receive it. Would not answer emails not calls.
2. Box Design: single 10" with 1.3 cubic feet air space and tuned to 36hz. I am running an Alpine Type S and it is LOUD. I am still debating whether I like the sealed or ported boxes but the ported is starting to grow on me. It sounds MUCH louder than a single 10.
3. Box Quality/ Build Quality: initially, I thought the box looked great. The carved "FORD" looks great and the Bedliner is a nice touch.
However, after listening to the box for a week or so I heard a leak in the top. Sure enough one of the screws was far from centered in the plastic top extension piece. Also the "joint" in the angle of the box did not match up with the angle of the plastic piece and air was escaping out of it and sounded terrible. I was able to fix this with some black silicone sealant. (Should a $220 new box be leaking!? no. But see Point 1 and that is why I fixed it myself).
4. Safety Tether: does not exist. God forbid you roll your truck- this 50lb box is nailing you in the head. I attached a metal bracket to the box and bent it down around where the jack tools are stored. This prevents it from shifting with heavy braking too.
Review:
SQ I give a 8/10.
Company: 2/10
Build Quality 5/10

In a nutshell, would I buy a box from FOX again?
NO. The terrible customer service and leaky box killed it for me. However, I do think it sounds great and is loud. I listen to all types of music and with a simple turn of my bass **** the Sub can play all the tunes.

Here is a picture of the Gap. I wi grab a picture of it installed in my truck as well.

Sorry about your box problems, but thanks for sharing. I was (keyword = was) only partly considering a Fox Box. Not likely I would have bought one anyways since I'm thinking about going with three 10's. I think with the seat riser I can get the volume with a taller box.
