I would use the factory wiring, I did but I added the small alpine amp in the dash and the kicker substage. The harness I used was a parrot, but it came from a focus I believe. I read through that thread 3 or 4 times before I decided what to do.

Cap is short for capacitor. Capacitors wired in series with some resistance (in this case the tweeters) creates a high pass filter, blocking the lower frequencies from getting to the tweeters. It's not a crossover per se, but performs the same basic function as the high pass filter on a crossover.

Default Check out Alpine Electronics

I see you are looking to add-on to your factory system and that may be fine for your needs but take a look at this option
Alpine has a nice upgrade for the low and medium trim level F150 Trucks from 2009 - 2014

Smile Upgrade to Ford OEM system

Hey it is expensive but look what you are getting and how much detail has been considered with this integration.
  • Being able to display the vehicle tire pressure at each wheel
  • Ability to customize fromthe OBDII data a gauge cluster of vehicle data
  • Check engine codes displayed and the ability to read and actually reset them
  • a full 9 inch display which is bigger than Ford's 8"
  • HD radio
  • Full turn by turn Premium navigation with trafffic
  • DVD/CD mechanism built in
  • Real Bluetooth HFP+A2DP
  • Sirius XM ready
  • Back up camera ready
This list goes on and on are you still saying this is an expensive option.
I just installed one of this in my 2013 Crewcab XLT and I love it.
The camera alone is a great upgrade on the large display.
Thanks for your comments

If all the factory integration stuff works seamlessly this is a great piece of equipment. However, $3k is a ridiculous price. I would be in at half that. I can't see EVER spending more than $1500 on a head unit. I would love see pics of yours in the dash though. Crutchfield has it at $2500. Better than $3k but still more than I would consider spending

Default Thanks

Thank you all for the help, I forgot to take pictures of the install last year however pretty much followed the threads here and turned out a factory looking system.

Next question, I am using the fuse location 23 for my rem turn on, however when I press the power button nothing comes on. I know Fuse location 23 is directly associated to the accessory turn on however it would be nice to be able to get sound by using the power on option from the factory radio. Any thoughts?
