2014 ford edge sony amp to replace sony in f150
Hello, has anyone replaced their sony amp for the one thats in the Edge??
i have a 2014 ford edge sony sync system ( similar to the Sony in the F150 )
my Edge sounds 10x's better - loader, clearer and more bass.
my 2014 FX4 has the 700watt sony with subwoofer, the Edge has a similar setup with subwoofer. But that system hits sooo much better.
Was thinking about replacing the Amp ( if I could find one ) assuming it would plug right in its place on my truck.
IF not, then I will def. be removing the FActory sub and adding another very soon..
just curious

Also need to consider sub placement in the edge vs the truck. If the edge sub is in the rear hatch area cross firing, it is going to sound better than a similar sub down firing under the rear seat.

the sub is in the back of the hatch area.
but total volume is also a Lot louder and clearer ?!
I'm going to look closer to see if the speakers itself are different.
Might start with changing the sub out in the truck.

Just go here... https://www.f150forum.com/f30/ford-o...b-only-298040/
But the right idea - adding Amp to factory speakers can be done
along with the sub ( I already have an idea to replace my Sony subwoofer )
The Kicker Powerstage ( shows a under glovebox amp ) - I would like to try this, without changing the speakers - just the Amp. Since the lows will be going to the subwoofer, there would not be a need to upgrade the speakers.
