2013 Sony equipped sub replacement - Short guide
Just want to condense this info down for anyone searching in the future, so they do not have to read 10 different threads to figure this out.
I have a 13 fx4 with the factory sub, and replaced it with an amp, and 2 10" subwoofers that sound amazing, all for around $650.
Your best premade sub enclosures that I've found are Rodney's boxes off ebay, or a fox acoustics foxbox. The foxbox costs a little bit more and doesnt include a spot to mount the amp, but I feel like it's better made and looks better, as well as provides room for full depth subs. I didn't really want to go with a shallow 10 in rodney's boxes even though I would have saved $200~ or so by going with cheaper stuff.
1st off, general wiring...I cut a hole in the grommet going from the engine bay to the fuse box and stuffed in my power cable from the battery, fed it through, and tucked it under the door sill plates and ran it all the way back behind the rear seat. the only thing I had to do to do this is remove the 2 little pieces that pull up and then snap back in, I wasn't trying to take apart a lot of stuff.
I used a bolt on the back wall of the truck for my ground, and I added an "add a circuit" fuse from advance that cost me $6 for the 12v power switch to the amp. I used the big silver fuse that you will see, and plugged that into the add a circuit, works perfectly and is only on when you turn the key to the on position. i have no idea what that fuse is for though.
I used a basic PAC line out converter off amazon for under $10. I saw people mentioning a $60 lsci2 or something like that but found it unnecessary for me in the 2013. I tapped the line out converter into the stock sub wires.

i have no idea if thats the true left or right, but I tried switching them via rca inputs on my amp and couldnt hear a difference.
I mounted my amp behind the rear right seat, wired everything up, and for the first time ever all my audio stuff worked on the first try.
it sounds roughly 82 times better than the stock sub, and I'm glad I didn't go the lazy route of blowing 500 on a tiny little shallow kicker sub.
also....guess I gotta figure out how to chop up my floor mat lol
