Default 2013 F150 NEED MORE VOLUME!!!! Recommendations please

Guys, I got the base stereo in the pic below in my FX4.
I need more volume. It's definitely already hit it's max and I'm not satisfied. Old school metalhead and I like ear bleed levels.
I already knew I wouldn't be satisfied from any car audio from Sony, as I've been a loyal Sony video fanatic since the 90's.
Their car audio dept has always been lacking.....

I don't want to blow thousands of dollars, and I'm not a newb to stereos,
Yes, I'm fully aware adding an amplifier or two will create more volume for me.
But ....>I am a newb to F150's HOT tickets and duds, so I want to ask you guys first.

I read the Infinity 6829's are a great improvement to the factory head unit.
However, are they LOUDER without another amp is what I want to know???

Any other areas or products I should consider ??

Eventually I'm going through my Alpine rep hookup for the new X009. NOT YET.....but I will be down the road.

Remove your earplugs, or turn up your hearing aids?

Only way to increase volume without adding an amp is to get new speakers with a high efficiency. 93 or more

LOL I'm in my 30's. I'm not that old.

I figured as much, but was wondering what options people chose instead of the Kappa's.
I've been reading on various forums that the Polk 571's are better but were discontinued.
The Kappa's are bright on the louder end of the spectrum which might not be appealing.

I might just dig more and see what amps people are choosing to install and how.
I don't know much about the 2013 but I heard there are complications with the stereo setups to overcome when adding devices.

I don't even know if I have a sub or not yet......haven't bothered to check

I was in the same spot as you when I got my F-150. Had a nice setup in the car before and was not satisfied with what was in the F-150 and I knew that going in. I'm no car audio expert by any means. This is what I added:

JL Audio JX500/1D Mono amp
JL Audio XD400/4 Four Channel amp
AudioControl LC6i
Polk Audio db5251 5 1/4" Component speakers (front)
Kicker KS68 Coaxial speakers (rear)
JL Audio CP208LG-W3v3 Dual 8" Microsubs

With all the parts and accessories I think it came to around $1500 but I bought some stuff used on craiglists. I posted some pictures and how I did everything here:

It's a lot louder now, I'm not shattering windows or setting off car alarms but its great for me. Like you, I to will be looking at getting the Alpine unit as soon as its out hopefully :-)

^ My brother bought a 2013 Ram Laramie Longhorn, bought about $4,000 in JL Audio gear for his RAM.
Cheaped out......had Best Buy install it in June. It's all fried now.....they FUBAR'd the install.

I warned him Best Buy was not the best idea to install it.....because they fried my Viper install 10 years ago.
He got refunded the $850 for the install. Told him I could have helped him do it but he was impatient and lazy.
I have no idea what he's doing about the fried stereo gear though.....he's probably SOL.

To be honest, I don't even know.
I don't think I have my window sticker so what's the easiest way to verify ??

I have not dug into the vehicle enough yet to verify exactly what system I had.
I only have the 4.2" display, that's about all I know. It's loud, but not loud enough for me.

I'm assuming the amps would be in the center console but I haven't taken the
time to tear it apart yet as it's winter here in Chicago and I have a 3 week old newborn.

You will have a sub in a black box under the back seat and the front speakers will have a little sony tag made into the grille/cover.

Pretty sure I don't have a sub under my rear seat.
I know I don't have Sony logo's on the door screens either.

Page 143 & 147 of the manual says it's a MyFord system and then there's a Sony reference too.....so I'm at a loss.
http://www.fordservicecontent.com/Fo.../13f12om3e.pdf

So now I guess my next question is what kind of system RMS power does my setup have.....
Headunit only or amp inline

I'm sure there's a thread SOMEWHERE I will find alot of details.....I just haven't found it yet.

Kenwood DDX470 headunit
Kenwood Excelon 6x8s in all four doors
Kenwood Excelon 1400 watt 12" shallow sub in sealed box
Kenwood 1000 watt mono amp

Voila, you can listen to your metal loud enough to make your ears ring for hours after you exit your truck.

The built in, adjustable crossovers in the headunit make it really easy to tune your system to your liking. Using the touch screen. Have the high pass set at 150 hz for the doors, and using the amp crossover set the same for the low pass.

Get no clipping at any volume.

Love the way it sounds. Country, rock, metal, old school rap, and even Dub Step all sounds great!
