So what are you guys gaining by replacing the speakers? I'm older and listening to Led Zeplin in the old days, has taken its toll on my ears! LOL!


Is it just better clearer sound?

Same here and yes they sound clearer and hit a little harder than stock.

Adapter Plate. I used these:

Not a PERFECT fit...some of the screw holes slightly overlap, but the speakers mount nice and snug, I got them to work without any modification.

I decided to order the GTO-8629's which should bolt right in, thanks for the reply, I guess I'll send the 509c's back
