I would put in the same size the amp calls for, and it should be fine.
The Owners/Installation Manual of the amp states that "The fuse rating should equal the total current consumption at full output of the amplifier." What size fuse would you recommend to place in the parrot harness? The Clarion amp is rated at 300 watts max power output. Also, the power wire on the amp is 10 gauge but the power wire on the harness is much thinner.

It states it needs a 25 amp fuse, but you can probably get away with a 20. The alpine has a 15 in it.

as long as the fuse is still on the wire to the clarion amp, I would just get rid of the parrot fuse holder all together.

Sounds like the parrot fuse holder is the weak point. Good info

I replaced the 3 amp fuse on the parrot harness with a 25 amp fuse and all is working now thank you all for your help this is why I like the forum. Now I can help others or answer questions regarding this install.
One con is that I turned up the volume 3/4 max and the pillar tweeters are static-y now, I'll probably disconnect them when I replace my door speakers with the infinity kappas.
Also, the three 10mm screws that hold the air bag are a pain in the *** to screw back in, I haven't got them back in yet.

Since this thread is still alive, just thought I'd provide an update on my system.

Previous set up(October time frame) was KTP-445u w/ Parrot harness, powering 6x8 Infinity Reference's in the doors, and a cheap (SSL brand I think) 8" thin powered sub from Amazon.

Well, you got what you pay for, and the cheap sub took a dump after a few months. The companies warranty policy is beyond absurb. Pay for shipping to them, and send a $20 money order for them to ship your sub back. A quick Amazon chat had me a return shipping label to Amazon & refund before I even shipped it back.

I went sub-less until last week, and couldn't stand it. Did a little searching, and found a great deal on the Kicker Substage. Was delivered today, and spent the afternoon in a freezing drizzle installing.

Installation is as easy as the reviews/directions say, with one exception, for those of us with an inline amp. If you tap into the FR speaker like the instructions say, the Kicker won't turn on. You have to tap into them on the speaker input side of the amp, in order to the the 6V DC (per Kicker tech support) that is required for the Kicker amp to autosense.

After tapping in there, and adjusting the crossovers on the KTP amp to 120 Hz, the system sounds unbelievable.

I did run into one installation snag on the Kicker, but, that's unrelated to the inline amp, so I'll open a new thread for that.

Hope this helps anyone that may be considering the inline amp/Substage combo.

Depending on the song, my amp will cut off intermediately and I get no audio at 3/4 max volume, does anyone else have this problem? I have the Clarion amp and stock door speakers. At first I thought the amp was overheating but that can't be the issue because it still cuts off the audio even after letting the amp rest for s couple of hours.

since the clarion amp has a 10 awg power wire you might need to run it to the battery, the alpine has an 18 awg wire and is fine with radio power.

Thanks man. If I disconnect the power wire from the Clarion amp from the harness and connect it to the to the battery, will I also have to disconnect the ground wire from the Clarion amp to the harness and ground the amp to another location behind the dash? Or am I fine leaving the ground on the amp to the ground on the harness?

You should ground it seperately. Your ground needs to be the same size as your primary power wire
