Bumpity Bump. Thinking more and more about getting in there with clippers, as I pass by that little amp sitting on my work bench. How hard are the pins to move in and out of the harnesses? Maybe I should just order a couple and start playing with them too.

Really not that hard to remove pins. Can be done with a paper clip if needed. I had the specialty tool to do it already so it was pretty easy.

With this tool http://www.fastenal.com/web/products...VendingMachine=

Makes it a breeze to remove the wires from the shell, just bend the tang back so when you put the wire back in the shell it locks.

I haven't forgotten about this mod just life is in the way right now.

Got mine installed Sat morning. One thing to note is that the White and Gray color pairs are reversed between the 2 plugs. If you wire color to color you will have the Front L and R reversed.

I only know because I used Molex plugs to make a temp connection for factory speakers. The Speedwire I have run also has Molex plugs attached.
When I am ready to run the signals back to processor I just have to unplug from the one and plug into the other.

Thanks for the info. I found this thread during my tireless search for the same solution, an easy plug & play inline connection without molesting that factory harness.

In my case, I need it for a different vehicle: a Mk3 (2012+) Focus, however the harness plug for the Mk3 Focus looks exactly like the one pictured on the 2nd page of this thread for the F-150 with the 4.2" screen. Of course, that doesn't mean they are the same, as the pinout could still be different, but having the same connector at least implies basic compatibility.

A user in the Focus community did find a solution, but unfortunately it's a bit on the pricey side, and it may even be cheaper to just buy multiple adapters and repin them. In the Focus thread, he said it was "$45 well spent" but the thread was from a year ago last August, and currently I can't find one for sale for less than a few pennies off $60. That's a hard pill to swallow when harnesses and reverse harnesses for most vehicles can be under $10 each!

I'll link the actual thread below, but in his case he used the Parrot harness adapter (FOR-11CK) and just cut off the Parrot specific bits, leaving an inline harness with easily tapped front and rear speaker wires.

(Interestingly enough, he also installed the same Alpine power pack.)

One more note, the Parrot harness itself only lists the Explorer, Focus, Edge, and Fiesta, but perhaps the F-150 with the screen is an unlisted compatible model. Regardless, I'm hoping this info helps out some fellow Ford guys.

I emailed the manufacturer and they said it will work with the F150 sync. I might try in the next couple weeks and will report back.

Awesome. Just ordered one from Amazon. Probably won't be able to install this weekend but should be able to by the next one. I'll report back what I find.
