Default 2012 SCREW Sony/Nav Speaker Upgrade Done

Finally got around to changing out the Sony door speakers. Probably the best upgrade I've done for the money. Subs have been done a couple of weeks.

That's located here: https://www.f150forum.com/f30/2012-s...-today-137577/

I went back and forth between JBL and Infinity components. Didn't want the Kappas and knew the Reference sets had good reviews. After a bit of research I went with JBL P560C. No regrets.

Install is simple. I used the Ford speaker adapters so no wires were cut (accept for the factory tweeter wires. I didn't use the JBL crossovers, just did a direct speaker change. Factory amp already has a crossover. When I add my own amp I'll change that though. Sounds good enough without for now.

Thanks to everyone who has posted their installs. Keep it up because it really does help answer other's questions.

The tweeters have a tab on top and bottom that screw into two holes. Those are the same two screws/holes that I used.

It's a silver **** and the black piece slides off. **** has threads to put a nut on the front side. Check out Audiocontrols website. The remote is the ACR-1. I think they have the manual in pdf and it shows the diagram. I was very pleased with the clean finished look.

What is the red stuff that looks like tape, is that what you are calling tabs? Just want to make sure, I am considering components as well but not sure about the tweeter install. Guess it will depend on what components I buy.

Yes it's 3M double sided tape. I left the red on one side and pulled it tight. Worked perfect and I can push the tweeters now and there's no movement.
