2012 Screw audio install...
Well I spent this weekend upgrading the sound on my truck. I have been reading this forum for a while for ideas. One of my critical requirements was to be able to remove the sub if I need the storage space.
Here is what went into my install:
- BT5520 harness
- Streetwires ics920c
- Alpine MRX-V70
- Polk MM1010 sub
- Rodney's Custom Speaker sub box from eBay
- Infinity Kappa 60.9
- Infinity 6032
- car-speaker-adapter adapter rings
- High amperage quick disconnect plugs
- Deutsch plugs
Everything is quick connect and the best part is - if I remove the sub/amp enclosure I can reconnect the harness so the setup is back to stock.

The alpine MRX-V70 accepts speaker level inputs so I just used ics920c to go from my bt5520 to the amp and then another run of ics920c to go from the amp back to the bt5520.

How did you route the wires? It shows them going behind the seat, but how did you run back to the h/u? Can you show a picture of the wires getting outside the seat? That is a solid piece of metal that runs the length of the seat.
Also, how did you get power into the truck and to the amp? What routing did you use for that?

I will take some more shots tomorrow - but as far as routing goes I did power through the firewall through the grommet with the little nipple on it and power goes along the right hand side of the truck through the existing wire channel.
The ics920c runs go down the left hand side of the truck in the existing wire channel and they tuck behind rear wall carpet and then just pop out and head towards the amp. Same goes for the power wire - just tucks behind the rear wall carpet and then pops out and heads towards the amp.

Thanks - I used that same nipple hole in the firewall. I am really curious on how you got from the inside of the rear seat to the rails. I could not feel an opening.

So in this shot you can see the power and ground cable coming out from behind the rear wall carpet covering.
To the right is plastic trim piece that goes to the ceiling and your seat belt mounts etc - I undid that and snaked my wires through there which then gives access to in behind the carpet of the back wall.
Hope that helps.
