1. You can run the woofer in the door full range and no crossover. Then for the tweeter buy the wiring adapter from Metra that plugs into the factory plug and then plug that into the input on your aftermarket crossover then on the crossover tweeter output just run speaker wrire to the tweeter.

2. If you plan to amp the speakers using an external amplifier like I am, I will be buying the BT-5520 and cutting it. I will send the headunit output to an LOC and into the amp, then I will be using the other end of the cut into the crossovers woofer output as this wire goes directly to the door. Then I will send a new set of speaker wire to my tweeters from the crossover and then the crossover input will come from my amplifiers speaker out with the amplified signal travelling to both the mid and tweeter passively crossed over.
Thanks for the input. At this point, since I'm planning on just running the factory HU (and maybe add the Alpine KTP-445U Power Pack at a future date), I'll just replace all 4 door speakers with some decent 2 way's and add a small powered sub.

Anyone have much experience with the Sound Ordnance P-57's? The specs don't look all that bad. The reviews on Crutchfield seem to be pretty positive and they're basically free right now!

Oh mannn, don't sell yourself short! Use the factory a-pillar tweeter locations as you wont get close to the nice imaging you get in the a-pillars from a 2way coax

The a-pillar tweet won't come out, I just won't upgrade them (yet).

Just picked up the Infinity Reference 6832cf for both front and rear doors.

Crutchfield had these on clearance for 59.99 with free shipping. Pretty hard to pass up!! Can't wait to get them installed!

I'll be sure to do a write up once installed (and pics too, of course).

Thats a wicked deal. I am just so torn right now because I actually really like the midbass I am getting from the factory speakers but I know there is better clarity I can get out there. I would absolutely prefer not to get a sub as I want all the room I can in my supercab but I am sure I am going to lose significant midbass with any speaker I add to the car outside of the factory.

I think it's just easier to rewire everything these days. The factory systems are a cluster at best.

I'm going to get the Sound Ordnance B-8PT powered sub (8" woofer). I also have a Scab and don't want to sacrifice any space. However, this sub is really small and from what I have learned by reading the reviews, it does a nice job rounding out your sound and fits perfectly under your rear seat. I'm not expecting window shaking bass, just a little more punch in the low end.

I'll be sure to post a review of the whole setup once all is said and done.

If you really don't want to add a sub,and don't mind the cost go with JL Audio's C-5 components.I first just put them in the doors and replaced the tweeters in the a-pillers before adding an amp,and was amaized at the bass, loundess increase,AND clarity. The stock speakers ain't even close. For the best price check techronics.com.
