Default 2012 f150 super crew audio help

Been looking around the web for the past week or so. I really miss my system I had in my old truck. Anyway, can I fit a 6.75 inch speaker in the doors? I'm looking at Rockford fosgate and Memphis and planet audio. Any opinions? I do plan on keeping my stock stereo but plans do change in a heartbeat. I know it's kinda of a stupid question. Thanks

I think Crutchfield lists the alpine type R 6.5/6.75 component set as fitting. I think with other brands you would have to make your own adapter to possibly make them work.

Yes I run a 7.1" x 3" driver. Baffle thickness is important depending on your drive depth, minimal is 1/2" -I use 5/8" mdf As it brings the driver out farther into the listening area. Fosgate's are good but as always I recommend going to a local audio store and listening to their demo wall.

I've got 6.75s (Pioneer Premier TS-D720C) in my stock door openings in my '06, bit of a tight fit. I'd assume the 6x8 openings in your 12 are similar.

Not my truck, but same set installed in another 04-08 F150:

Here is the 7" driver on 5/8" mdf as seen under the speaker grill.
