ebay... actually got everything there. i don't normally shop via ebay, but when I was looking at pricing vs crutchfield, it just made sense. Saved a good chunk of change.

Picked up the Alpine PXE-H660 yesterday for $220.

Now I'm all set. Just waiting for everything to come in and then it'll be install time.

Eek. Got my speakers yesterday. All the specs say 2ohm (not 4 ohm as I expected). That means my amp will be at 75w per channel instead of 50w. Too much power? I'd hate to have to completely throttle the amp back to coincide with the sub amp (250w rms at 4ohms).

Or... may be I look for a 10" 2 ohm sub to throw in my sealed box. That may be a way to give it some extra giddy up.

First step... install everything. Still need to order wire. Suggestions on a good source?

Well there goes that idea... the Sony amp I have can't bridge into 2ohms. I guess I could look into DVC @ 2ohms.

then again... patience... just patience. Need to install it all, then decide if a change is warranted.

As long as your 4-channel amp is 2ohm stable(per channel) you should have no problem having optimal power and sound. Just set your gain and xovers properly. You can power a 100 watt sub with a 1500 watt amp if you set your gains and filters properly. It's all about send the speakers the right power with the right frequencies.

Also, unless you have 4-6v pre-outs and your volume is maxed out, you will never send the complete 75 rms to each speaker. I would go get a DMM(20 bucks) and set my gain according to that.

If you have the PXA H660, and it is set up properly it will lead you in the direction to how to get the appropriate gain for your vehicles acoustics and speakers power settings.

I don't think you have anything to worry about. Like you said - get it installed and go from there. I would recommend a bass control **** so you can adjust sub stage on the fly.

Just sent OnlineCarStereo a nasty gram. 11 days ago i ordered product (wire, etc...). According to their website, it has not yet shipped. 11 damn days! Every product I chose was "instock", according to the website.

I was hoping to start the installation Monday.

Argh!
