What kind of clearance do you have on the amp with the seats reinstalled. I've seen some issues when people try to lift the back seats up to the 'stowed' position. I'd be interested is seeing some pics.

The top of my amp is close to the seat backing, at the bottom of the amp I have enough space to fit my hand between the seat back, and the amp. I have not had any issues with the seats folding up.

I am getting prepared to do a very similar setup. Can you give me more info on the three connectors that run into the factory amp? Which ones are which, etc. Also I'd like more info on what you meant by the seperate tweeter wires. From what I gather, and from talking with Crutchfield, the factory amp runs seperate wires from the amp to the front woofers and tweeters. However there is no factory crossover. There is simply a bass blocker type feature built into the tweeters. He told me to just abandon the tweeter wires from the amp and run the front door wires into the aftermarket crossover.
Thanks in advance.

If you are putting aftermarket tweeters in you most likely will have to dremel the pillars a bit to get them to fit snug. Tedious work but well worth it. Good luck on your system, cheers

I'm sorry, it was an accident. Much like you not rereading your post to make sure you didn't come across as a *****.
I'll do better in the future...

The wires for the Sony amp, First block from from is the input from the head unit, Middle is all the speaker channels going out, and the rear is out for the sub woofer.
I ran separate lines from the front tweeters and front door speakers, and combined signals from those channels with the lci8. ( I wanted to make sure I didn't loose any signal that may have been blocked by the Sony amp to the front door speaker or tweeter.) From there to amp, then out to the crossover for the front speakers.
I ran it that way since I didn't know if the front speakers had any crossover effects from the Sony amp at the time.
The Sony amp is running, but the lci8 converts it back down to a low power signal, which goes out to the alpine.

sony amp wire
Why are there so many wires for the speaker outputs and sub outputs from the factory sony amp? Does anyone know what wires to tie into to integrate a device like an audio control lc8i? I am using this to go to a dsp processor and then to 3 large amps. I will be doing a fully active front stage with dynaudio esotars and a rear substage with dynaudio 182s. I just need to know how to get my signal summed and what wires are what coming from the factory sony amp. thanks in advance..

I took a multiconductor cable from the Sony amp and ran it back to the lci6. Tapped into the left and right rear channels. I had a pdf of the Sony specs and wiring diagrams and have since wiped my hard drive. I'll try and locate it later tonight
