2010 stereo dissapointing...
Okay ill start with the rant first. I never expect too much from stock systems but my 2010 stereo sucks bad. its just has the sync system but man i get it a little past half way and garbage. SO now to the fun stuff, uprgrading! i Will eventually get some subs under the rear seat (Screw) but for now just some new speakers and an amp. SUggestions on a good foundation? what are other running? Thanks

Gator - i dont want to say money is not a factor but i as long as its really good stuff i dont mind spening extra dough.
THanks for the comments guys. I eventually want to get some JL audio subs in the hopefuly not too distant future. But as far as speakers go im lost. I also kinda (not necessary) like to stick with one brand for the whole system. just a personal thing tho. So what setups do you guys have/reccomend? thanks again

These, from what I hear, are very good. This is the set up I will be going with in a few months, years, or decades. When ever I have extra funds available which seems like it will be forever.
JL Audio C2-570X for speakers and JL Audio J2 320.4 for the amp.
I am thinking it should run about $500 for everything.

Get components (seperate woofers and tweeters) for your front doors. I think the size is still the same in the new trucks so you should be able to fit:
5x7/6x8 - stock size
5 1/4 round - with an adapter plate
6 1/2 round - with an adapter plate and some trimming.
You can leave the stock stuff in the back for rear fill (most high end systems do not use any rear speakers) or install coaxials or components there as well. The rears can be run off of the head unit, or you can amp depending on your preference.
JL audio is a well respected name in both the speaker and amp game. Check out sonicelectronix.com for good prices.
CDT and Image Dynamics are also quality, you'll find those and some other good names at woofersetc.com

+1 on the component speakers up front. Makes a world of difference. I went with Kicker componets in the front doors, regular Kicker speakers in the rear doors, all through a Kicker 400w amp. Also added 2 DC Audio level 2 subs under the back seat through a Kicker 1000w amp. Switched out my head unit as well with a Pioneer unit.

Yeah, i hate teh stereo in my 2010 as well. I want to keep sync working and the stock look though too, so i have go with a line output converter...though im still not sure if i am able to drive 2 amps this way, i already have a jl 250/1 amp, its older, but works just fine. I want a box with a single 10w3v3 woofer, and still don't know what i want to do for door speakers, probably go 6x8's in all for convenience...woudl like to go component, but don't know where i would put tweeters, and dont' want to do a lot of custom work.
