2010 Screw upgrade basic sync stereo
I have installed Kenwood 6893`s all around with Dynamat and it sounds alot better but I am now going to get a 4 channel amp.I plan on just using the speaker level input.Does it matter where I cut the speaker wires.I want sync to still be fully functional.Any Ideas on the best amp? Thanks

I guess what i`m wondering is if the speaker cables were cut in another location (behind the HU)Would it make any difference for sync. Were the wires cut at the b-pillars and kick panels because it was the easiest?

I cut the wires there because i didn't want to mess with the dash, taking off the bottom covers of the door and kick panels on driver/passenger side was an easy approach for me. Just cut the wires, the way coming out of the stereo i spliced in, soldered, covered with heat shrink, and ran those to the back, hooked everything up, ran the wire back to same cut, spliced back in continuing through factory wire back to speakers, very easy.

If I understand this sync basically mutes the HU and has it`s own output to the front speakers. When you take the signals at the kickpanel/b-pillar are you also amplifying the sync output?

Spend $43 and get the PAC-OEM harness for your truck. http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...OEM-FRD24.html
I've used those in previous cars and just installed one in my 2010 Screw.
The stereo is super easy to remove. You pop the side panels out a bit, two screws at the top of the face and one behind the sync plugs below. Then the trim panel pops out and there's 4 screws holding the actual stereo unit in place.
It took me about 30-45 minutes to take everything apart, install the PAC and RCA cables and put everything back together.
I have the non Sony system and my sync works after the install.

I ordered the Pac oem harness and Pioneer gm 9500 (4x75rms) from Sonicelectronix.I`m wondering about wire gauge for this amp.Is 8 gauge ok or is 4 gauge required?I have built a bracket to mount the amp under the passenger seat. What`s the best route to get the power there while avoiding speaker wires? Also where should I ground this?
