Default 2010 SCREW - Radio Bezel Removal Question

Ok, so I am trying not to be a noob and I've used the search feature of the forum and I located this video, which details how to remove the radio bezel from around the stock 2009/2010 headunit:

http://www.coastaletech.com/F150installation.htm

My radio isn't exactly like this (I don't have sync, no NAV, no multi-CD...Basic), so I wanted confirmation from some folks that have done it if they had to follow all of these steps....

From watching the video I'm having a hard time seeing what popping the trim pieces off the side and uninstalling the passenger airbag really gets you....Seems like you still just end up ultimately prying the center piece loose once the top and bottom bolts are removed.

I was good up until the airbag piece...I'd hate to screw up and have somebody die in an accident just cause I wanted better bass in my truck.
