I got it semi installed. works good but I have to trim the bezel as the door won't quite open with it the way it is. Hope I don't butcher that.

I also can't get the three button cluster at the top of the panel to pop out. The clips seem to be pretty tight and I am not sure if I should be trying to push them through the front or out the back.
I don't want to put too much pressure on especially if I am going the wrong way.
Any tips?

Can you post pictures of the trim kit installed with the stereo?
After seeing how much signal processors are if I can't fix my setup with an analog EQ I figured I should at least investigate an aftermarket HU.

What other features might we lose with an aftermarket deck? Will the backup camera and park distance sensor still work?

It actually looks pretty good.
I will post some pics as soon as I figure out how to pop out that top cluster of buttons and get it all installed.

My deck at least has an input for the back up camera so I don't think you would lose that, assuming Ford didn't do something funky with the stock HU.
Not sure about the backup sensors I don't have them so I am not sure how they are configured.
Does it just sound a different tone as you get close to things?

Yup, when you're backing up and get too close to an object it will start pinging faster. It's kinda nice to have but the camera is more important.
What about your upper LCD panel? I'm guessing nothing will display there now? Or does the temp and compass still show?
Does everything still show on your odometer display?

The display says "Built Ford Tough"
It does display the temperature and direction.
It seems like everything on the odometer display still works.

Does anybody have any tips to remove the hazard light cluster?
Even which direction to push it would be great.

Hmm, that's good you get some info still on the screen. I wonder if the backup cam still works in the mirror.

Is the cluster screwed in from behind maybe? There's the pad above the dash you can remove and take a look behind. Or peak from underneath. Unless there's a bolt it should just be one of those snap in dealies.

I found the metra kit won't work for my truck... I have the hazard button and traction and to the left the info buttons. The metra kit just has a hole in the middle.

It is one of the clip dealies but the "clips" are really tight, so not really any place to compress to. And if I do squish them in I wanna make sure I am pushing it the right way, it looks like it could go either way.
If someone who has done it doesn't respond soon I am gonna go with push forward and see what happens

Metra has two kits one with a single hole at the top and one with a double, is this the one you need?

Very cool! I couldn't find that kit on their website. I'm still on the fence about adding a processor or just replacing the head unit.

Wish I could help more on your clip issue. I've had a lot of those stubborn ones on various cars and just use steady, even force and they finally pop out

No worries. I got it out finally.
Pushing in on the sides and then push it out through the front, one side at a time.
The head unit is really an easy upgrade so either way shouldn't be too bad.

Glad you got it out.

My only concern about replacing the head unit is what stuff I'll lose.
