Default 2009 f150 trying to install new stereo.

okay so i own a 2009 f150 xlt with the non navigation sync stereo. i was wondering if there were any kits to install a aftermarket head unit in my car other than the one sold by pac to keep sync. Honestly, if i get a new stereo, i could care less about sync, and all i want to keep are the steering wheel controls. Does anyone know of a harness that keeps steering wheel control but doesn't have the sync adapter??

they make the dash kit, but not the wiring harness from what i can tell. this is frustrating because i don't want to fork out over 150 for just the wiring

Use T connections on the stock wires.

Yeap, just peel the wire protection a little bit, and conect your new HU cables there, then some 3m tape will protect the cables, and leave the OEM harness around, i have install several HU in different cars and this is the method i used, works nice and keep the OEM plug.

He's talking about crimp wire taps.

You need an interface to keep the steering wheels controls working, check your HU brand to see what interface they recommend.
