I just got a (new to me) 2008 f-150 lariat supercrew for my birthday and I am looking to add an amp and subs to increase stereo performance. I was asking you guys for any suggestions or what amp and subs to purchase and where the best place is to put them in the truck....TIA
if your wanting to keep the rear seats then your going to want to put the subs under the rear seats, my suggestion for the loudest and best sounding yet most inexpensive combo would be 1 or 2 dc audio level 2 subwoofers, either 10, or 12"...you can build the box yourself or get a prefab...they will fit its just a snug fit...as far as amplifier, a audiopipe 300.2 is a inexpensive option and if the gains are set right will pair up to the subs nicely, im a sales rep for dc and also have a slightly modded audiopipe 300.2 for sale, if your interested please let me know or if you have any more questions feel free to ask...i have taken apart every bit of a 04-08 f150 and will be able to answer your questions

Yeah I am looking to keep the back seat and all I want is a medium range sub just enough to give it a little thump and that can be plenty loud at times along with an amp that will support the entire system best...I am looking at alpine products. Are there any amps or subs you recommend that are alpine?
it just depends, alpine makes some fairly good amps, the only sub that is halfway decent is the type r and the 2011 series of it is not that great, they went cheap on it and the triple joints are crap....when it comes down to it the best non shallow series subwoofer to fit under the rear sit is the level 2 series sub from dc, the problem with shallow mount subwoofers is they use a short throw wider voice coil to try to maximize power handling, so you have say a 4" voice coil but minimal excursion/cooling, but it also destroys sound quality also..that is why i hate shallow series subwoofers with a passion and i have installed quite a few of them, pioneer's, kicker cvt series, re audios....etc
