Head Unit Wiring Harness/Adapter?
Hi all,
I'm pretty beast with knowing about audio systems and installing, ect. So maybe i can help someone else out in return!
But I've picked up a pioneer headunit and opened up the dash to realize that the plugs don't fit (of course).
I am aware that I'm supposed to get some sort of wiring harness or something for these to match up. Would anyone have some help for this?

Did you get a brand new pioneer unit? If so there is a plug that goes into it supplied by pioneer. If not you will need to get it from pioneer.
After that we need a few more bits of info. What year truck what style truck XL XLT FX with or with out nav with or with out steering wheel controls. There are a lot of adaptors out there as well as face plates so if it is a double din or single din. Let us know and I am sure we can ge you setup.

Isn't there a universal wire harness/adapter for wiring it in though?
I don't have the model # or name right now cause i've been away from home. But I DO know it's a pioneer!

Let me get this straight, you are 'beast' with knowing about audio stuff but you don't know about getting a wiring harness for your truck and that the plugs from the truck won't just fit into the stereo?
You can get a wiring harness from Pac-audio.com that will attach to the truck wiring harness, but you need to use the harness that came with your stereo to wire into the pac-audio harness. Once you've wired the harnesses together, you can then install the stereo. The color code for the pac-harness will come with it, the color code for the head unit will be in the installation manual.
If you bought it used with no harness, you will have to buy one from the manufacturer as all head units use a proprietary connector.
