Not sure how to hook up coaxials
I hope I'm not using the forums wrong or anything, I'm knida new at this. In my 05 xlt scab I've got a pair of pioneer ts-gl643r 6.5 Coaxials in the front doors. I had a pair of Memphis mc15 1" tweeters and just wired the passive crossovers to the back of the coax's. Is that ok or can I cut the wire on the coax tweets and splice? What's some suggestion on what to do here? Oh and the rears are disconnned.

when you buy seperate tweeters they should come with crossovers, if not dont use them because tweeters cant take full signal, if they do then what you did is fine, just hook up the crossover to the rear of the speaker..that will be the easiest and save you the most wire

Awesome. I didn't know if you disconnected the tweet on the coax if it would cut down on some of the juice the hu was putting out. I was disappointed in those little pioneers tho! The stock 5x7's sounded like monster subs compared to them! Is it because they need anlittle more power? And I should be firin up the kicker and Mtx amp in an hour or so! This is the first sub I've ever had so I'm a little pumped!!

alot of the times when upgrading speakers and not adding a 4 channel or so you gain vocals but lose midbass because you really dont have the power to give those aftermarket speakers...a factory headunit is only putting out maybe 8-12 watts rms if your lucky
