Default 2008 F150 Rockford Fosgate Setup

Hi Everyone!

I just purchased my 2008 F150 Lariat about a month ago. I don't know much about audio equipment so looking for a little guidance. My step father received an extra Rockford Fosgate Punch amplifier through warranty so he gave it to me. It's model P400X4.

I was going to upgrade my speakers to the Rockford Fosgate Punch P1683 speakers. They have great reviews and its not a bad price for the pair. I've read that the 6x8 is what comes stock for my model?

So I guess my main concern is ..do I have to upgrade my stereo as well? I would actually like to just keep my stock 6 disc cd changer especially since it works with my steering wheel controls. From the pictures I've seen it looks like there is not an RCA input on the back of the stock stereos? Since my amplifier needs RCA to plug into the back of the stereo, is it compatible?

I also read that I would need a LOC for this application. Any suggestions on which are good without breaking the bank. I just want to confirm that its compatible and will work before I buy the speakers and equipment for installation.

Thanks Guys!

You can add a 4 channel LOC to the factory HU speaker outs. Or run the factory speaker wires into the high input level of the amp. No LOC required. Then run new speaker wire from the amp back to the speakers

Sorry, Just saw your post! Ok, I will look into doing that. Thanks! I'm going to go ahead and order the speakers tonight.
