I'd say ditch that cap also... Here's my reason... 2 farad cap= 2000watts... Your amp is class D and rated 2500 watts... You're already short 500 watts... So this amp I think draws it's max current at 16volts(I think)... Our factory alternator puts out about 14.9v or so... You play that thing loud and that cap will not sustain you at all.... (LOOK INTO THOSE BD AMPS)

I on the other hand went with a cap... My system is 1000 watts total but I have a 5farad (5000 watt) hybrid cap... My amp is rated at 12.4v... I have no dimming issues or lack of current...( I WILL BE UPGRADING FROM THE CAP)

The big 3 is the way to go... Head out to the junk yard and look for service vehicles and cop cars and snag you one of those big alternators which is part of the interceptor package... My old expedition came with the interceptor hook up from its previous life... I'd drive to my parents house at night for 2hrs with 15's and 4 amps blazing and wouldn't dim not once the whole trip...

I also don't know how they breathe back there. I had to cut the back carpet all the way to the window motor and the amps don't seem too tall. The one thing I'm not going to like is the difference in carpet color. My carpet is black and for some reason the back wall carpet is charcoal. The good thing is that the amp rack will be hidden.

Speaking of the amp rack… the amps are only going to have an inch of room between them. Seems very close but so is the seat back. They are both class d amps. But speaking of breathing, I don't have a clue how the pdx-v9 breathes. I can't find any large vents like most amps have.

The capacitor…. I feel what y'all are saying. I have already purchased it and I make do with it for now. When the time comes I'll upgrade. My wires are already cut to length for it and I really don't want to buy more just yet.

Big 3… I won't be doing this right now either. I spent over my budget on this build and the wife isn't too happy. It's not an expensive price tag and I'll probably knock it out next month or something. I have to go out of town for another month and really just want the sound done. The big 3 or 4 will be taken care of. I'll probably beef up all of the grounding straps as well. I'm stupid like that!
