You should have a couple wires coming out of the axxess, get some of these
Amazon.com: Posi-tap Connector, 20-22 Gauge Wire, Pack of 5: Automotive
and tap into the stock pin 18, 19 wires on the big harness. Here is a photo to help out, you can also use pin 6 for your reverse sensor wire

I've racked my brain trying to figure out the steering wheel controls and searched all over the forum looking for answers. If you're still having trouble, check out this thread on F150online. It helped me tremendously.

Thanks for the info, heading out to finish up the install this afternoon.
On my pioneer, there is a parking brake signal wire that I am supposed to wire into the parking brake switch. I'd rather disable / bypass this feature, as I have sense enough not to try to add contacts to the phone book while driving. Is this looking for ground, or 12V, or something else? Or do I need to wire it in correctly to access the "parking brake must be set for this" features?

That's what worked - I grounded the wire and all of the locked out features were unlocked. Thanks for the confirmation!
Remarkably enough, all of the steering wheel controls worked on the first try, so everything is back together and working. Thanks for all the info and help.
