Either the amp or the speaker. I would try a different speaker 1st

That noise is interface. Did you run your power wire + remote wire and RCA cables on the same side?

it is a factory sub. the HU is a Pioneer AVH-4000NEX, the rest is all factory. I dont know if the sub was not working before, but the buzzing was there before I upgraded the HU.

I'm guessing you tapped into the factory sub connectors on the amp? If so, that exposed wire is either picking up signal from a close power source, or the OHM's are low on your subwoofer and the amp has a buzzing noise because its not meant to be that low. Something at 4OHMS will not be as loud as something at 2OHMS with the same wattage. Maybe they made a 4OHM factory subwoofer because the stock ****ty amps put out distortion and buzzing noises.

Did you use the adapter that drops the voltage from 12V to 5V for the sub turn on?
But if the buzzing was there before you added the new HU then start with swapping out the sub speaker first. If buzz is still there then it is the sub amp.

I did not cut or tap into the factory wires. I used a harness adapter from the new HU.

I'll check the speaker once the weather breaks. thanks everyone for hte suggestions.
