None the adapters work worth a darn. You would be better off spending $100 on a new radio

Thanks I'll check the fuse, do you have any idea where this connector belongs?

I just picked up an 04 F150 and want to put the 3.5mm jack in using the PIE unit. I can't seem to find them available from anywhere, does anyone have a source? It may just be cheaper and easier for me to buy a new head unit.

Default AMP Bypass

My last aftermarket HU install with AMP and subs was in 2004...allot has changed im sure, but in my 2000 Ford Taurus SHO, there was a factory AMP in there which you needed to bypass with a METRA harness in order to have the after market radio work and so on... Does the 2006 F150 without the Audiophile system ( i dont have factory tweeters nor sub, so im guessing i have standard system) have a factory amp or is everything powered strictly through its head unit? Thanks. Also anyone have made an under the seat sub box?

Thank you in advance

It should be just powered by the HU. A simple wiring harness is all you need. I would take a look at a premade sub box myself.

Default Changing my radio

My CD player went away on my '08 Lariat, and I'd like to replace the radio/cd player with one that has phone capabilities and maybe gps as well.
Is that doable?
Here's the existing radio installation.

Very easily doable. Get the HU, dash kit and wiring harness and you are all set.
Not positive if you need an antenna adapter

Default General question

I have 2 kicker comp 12's and a 1,000 watt 2 channel amp that will be going in my 2005 f-150 XLT 5.4 at some point. I have found a box and found someone to do the wiring for me what I need to know now is in order to protect battery life and alternator life can I do just the big 3/4 upgrade and be fine with my stock battery alternator? Or do I need to upgrade the alternator as well as the big 3/4? Or do I just need to buy a 1 farad cap/separate battery? Also I have an aftermarket light bar I'm going to be running into the fuse holder when all this is installed I'll be using a 4 awg amp wiring kit. If I need to upgrade the alternator at all is it cheaper to just buy an aftermarket alternator pushing more amps or upgrade the stock alternator armature to a 180 or 200 amp?
