My question is: I have been looking at the wiring harness adapter so that I do not have to cut my harness, the package comes with 1 plug adapter that has the power, ground, speaker wires, etc. What do I do with the additional plug on the actual vehicle harness? Do I buy a separate connector and splice that into the other and connect it to the new stereo or leave it disconnected? I do not have the factory sub by the way and the new stereo's extra connection on back is all RCA plugs of which my wiring harness has none of these? Can someone give me an idea of what to do here. Thank you and this is a great thread.
Tom
If you don't have a factory sub then it isn't for it. Do you have a factory 6 - disc player? Either way just connect the one.

I'm looking to install a rear view camera and aftermarket head unit, so I need the wire to initiate the trigger for viewing onscreen. Anybody do this and how?

Note: the wire harness for the camera doesn't carry a wire that I can use to tap into reverse lights so I have to pickup something in the dash, or run a new wire (which I'm trying not to do).

Thanks, Clint

You have to run a wire... You have to run the video from the camera up to the dash anyway so it's not much more work to just run 2 wires. I just did it yesterday and it wasn't bad at all. I tapped into the reverse light on the drivers side tail light. It really wasn't that bad. I brought the wire up into the cab through a grommet on the driver side beside the rear seat. Just pull up the trim along the floor and look under the wires, you can't miss it.

I hope that helps.

Yeah, I was just hoping someone might know of a wire coming out of the console that would carry the signal for the back-up lights.

You will have to tap into it in the rear anyway to feed power to the back up camera. I just split that, 1 to the camera, other to the head unit.

My camera has the power, trigger and video feed connector all at the top end. Already ran the new trigger from the tail, all good now.

Given this response was four years ago, I'm wondering if this answer has changed. I have a new Pioneer unit and I'm wondering if there's a way to utilize the OEM Sirius receiver?

Thanks, Clint
