There are two plugs on a can-bus radio. The bigger one has the speakers and power wires in it and the smaller plug has wires that I have no clue where they go. I used the metra adapter and my new stereo is working but was just curious as to what the other plug does.

I think the second one is for a sub - but if you don't have a sub then its not used.

That connector is the can bus aux plug. Only used with stock Sirius or the DVD player.

Sub would be the third eight pin connector on audiophile head units.

Well, it seems as though I won one of the odd ball '06 Lariats. I have the male sub plug under the back seat but no plug for the head unit under the dash. So I have a couple questions for everybody. I have the male plug and am ready to run wire for the head unit.

Does the #3 wire on head unit side go grounded under the dash or does it run to pin #9 on sub end plug? If it does ground under dash, does it matter where?

Because I have the sub end plug from factory, what is the likelyhood that the ground wire is actually grounded? (Can I tell this without pulling the seat out and carpet up?)

How far forward under the sill plates do those sub wires run since I don't have to front end? (All the way to the firewall, or only a few inches?)

And lastly, I have come across a good deal on a new, never used, Shaker500. The only issues that I have seen mentioned deal with light dimming and proper steering wheel controls which the dealership here should be able to correct for a modest fee...correct?

I don't want to tick anyone off but I have searched just about every keyword and combination thereof and don't find any definite answers to my questions. Any help is appreciated. BTW, I bought this truck new in September of '06 and she has yet to turn 20,000 miles. In the coming months, it will be getting more drive time though.

What are the + and - wire colours for the factory sub in an 05. i found a site that says "brown/orange (+), and red/black (-) at the radio harness." but i can only find the red/black, is it possible the brown/orange is actually a grey/black because that's what's left.

Default 07 F150 FX2 DASH Clips

Does anyone know where to get replacement clips for the console? I lost one when removing the console.

These are the 6 clips that hold the audio/climate control panel in.
