stock sub
i have an 08 f150 lariat w/ a regular 6 disc cd player and no nav system. My friend gave me his stock sub for the back seat because he got an aftermarket system. Is there any way I can hook up the stock sub? There is no wiring under the back seat. I don't want to spend money on an aftermarket system because I don't care that much about sound quality, so I'm hoping the stock sub will work. Any ideas?

1. Buy an Audiophile head unit and make a harness.
2. Buy a Line Output Converter and Low Pass Active Crossover and tap the signal off of the head unit speaker out. I believe you'll have to deal with the bass roll off from the stock head unit so you may want to look at something with a bass restoration processor. You'll need to make a cheap voltage divider to lower an accessory switched power source to 5v from 12v for the amp turn on. I would personally also install in line high pass crossovers to remove the sub signal from the door speakers.
Either way you go, you'll also need to pull a 20A fused power wire to run it, and run a ground wire.

2001 audio
Well I was able to pull it off, pulled my
stock and upgraded to Kenwood DPX 503
with infinity 5030 componet sytem in front
and rear doors 2 10" kickers behind rear
captain seats. 2001 F150 Harley Edition.
Not easy but two amatures pulled it off
in 4 hours. BUT anyone know of an
adaptor to connect the stock 6 disc changer
to the head unit. Bought all new stuff from
crutchfield but no adaptor. The end that
plugs into the head unit looks like
an oversized S cable. Appreciate all the
info on this forum it helped give me the
b__ls to pull it off

How can I tell for sure whether or not I have an audiophile system? If I have one and didn't know it, couldn't I just buy the wiring harness for the audiophile factory sub/amp and hook it up?
