He's looking at 05-06 per his initial post.

been doing some research on my own still. whats your opinion on how a guy in another forum said he mounted his amp under his seat. he made " mounting feet" for his amp out of wood to sit on:

make some mounting "feet"...

i use either small squares of 3/4" thick wood ( hardwood or MDF ) or 1" dowel ( walmart for about $1....) with a hole drilled in the center ( spray paint it black to protect the wood... $1 a can at walmart...)

it allows the amp to have air pass under as well as over the amplifier...much better for cooling when it is in a concealed and cramped mounting location.
That is an option, but I would still recommend a behind the seat install for aesthetic reasons. I've never had a heat issue with my class D putting out 500W RMS behind the seat, and many others haven't had issues putting out big power from less efficient class A/Bs.

Heavy duty Velcro would probably work.

Default GATORB8, Help Please!

Gator you seem to have quite a bit of knowledge on the audio subject when dealing with F-150's. I need help. I have an '06 Super Crew Lariat with the sub plug under the driver-side rear seat. I have the 6 disc/mp3 with Sirius satellite head unit so I naturally thought that I had the correct Audiophile unit. I did not have the sub, so I bought one and when I went to hook it up I have nothing. I know now that I should have looked at the back of the head unit to make sure it had the three plug in spots but I didn't, too late now. Here are my questions...

1. Where the hell is the third plug hiding under the dash? Not found yet, and like I said before, the plug is under the seat for the sub.

2. To put an Audiophile head unit in now (want to stay with oem), what years am I looking for for compatibility? By that I mean plug n play. I'd prefer not to have to take it to the dealer for programming. Also, the antenna plug? I have to look for sure which plug my truck has.

Thanks for your help.

I have a 2007 ford f150 XLT four door. All of a sudden my drivers rear speaker died. So I bought new speakers and it still does not work. Can someone answer why? What can I check? They want to charge me an arm and a leg to check it. Any help will be helpful.

Yes, I have checked the fader. I do get sound on the other 3 speakers. It's just that one that no sound comes out. I was thinking of trying to run a new speaker wire but not sure on how to do it. Any suggestions?

There are two possibilities, a short in the speaker wire or a bad output on the head unit. You could pull the head unit and connect your extra speaker to the drivers rear output to confirm if its the head unit.
